🔹 Customer Case
Customer Case 1 – Large Refinery in the Middle East
A major Middle Eastern refinery with a 200,000 BPD HF alkylation unit faced severe downstream equipment corrosion and frequent valve plugging due to residual HF and organic fluorides in propane, butane, and alkylate streams. The previous adsorbent had low capacity and short service life, leading to high maintenance costs and unplanned shutdowns.
Solution:Replaced the old media with our high-capacity activated alumina for alkylation defluorinators (3–5 mm spherical, 20–25 wt% fluoride capacity). The material features high crush strength (≥180 N/particle), low abrasion (≤0.08%), and optimized pore structure for both HF adsorption and organic fluoride conversion.
Results:
●Outlet fluoride content reduced to <1 PPM, meeting strict product specifications.
●Service life extended by 40%, cutting adsorbent replacement frequency and labor costs.
●Corrosion and plugging eliminated, reducing maintenance downtime by 30% and improving operational stability.
●Stable performance at 204–232°C (400–450°F), matching alkylation process conditions.
