Metal Gauze Structured Packing Material Properties
1. Gauze structure:
Woven from fine metal wires, 0.1–0.2 mm diameter) offers sufficient tensile strength to resist deformation under normal process loads.
2. Low compressive resistance:
Thinner gauze layers are prone to flattening under excessive upper packing weight;
3. Ultra-high specific surface area:
The gauze’s porous structure creates a large, continuous contact area for gas-liquid interaction.

4. Superior wettability & film formation:
The fine wire mesh traps liquid, forming a uniform, thin liquid film ,mass transfer driving force, making it ideal for high-purity separation.
5. Low pressure drop:
Even with high surface area, the corrugated gauze structure guides fluid flow smoothly, resulting in a pressure drop of 0.05–0.3 kPa/m energy-efficient for vacuum or low-pressure processes.
6. Low density:
The porous gauze structure reduces overall density compared to solid metal corrugated plates lightening tower load.
