Metal Corrugated Plate Packing Product Introduction
450Y Metal Corrugated Plate Packing is a high-efficiency structured packing widely used in industrial separation towers. It is manufactured from precision-formed corrugated metal sheets assembled into regular geometric modules, providing a large specific surface area of 450 m²/m³ for intensive gas-liquid contact. Compared with traditional random packing, this structured packing delivers more uniform fluid distribution, lower pressure drop and higher mass transfer efficiency, making it an ideal choice for distillation, absorption and rectification processes.
The packing consists of vertically arranged corrugated plates with alternating inclination angles, forming orderly inclined channels inside the tower. Gas and liquid flow counter-currently through these channels, achieving repeated contact and redistribution on the corrugated surface. The corrugation angle and plate spacing are precisely controlled to balance throughput capacity and separation efficiency. Each module can be custom-sized to fit different tower diameters, ensuring a tight fit and minimizing wall flow and channeling effects.
- SS304 / SS304L: General corrosion resistance, suitable for most organic and weak corrosive systems.
- SS316 / SS316L: Enhanced resistance to chloride and acidic media, recommended for petrochemical and fine chemical processes.
- Carbon Steel: For non-corrosive or dry gas systems at a lower cost.
- Other alloys such as duplex stainless steel are available upon request.
